About Sean Chin
Hi there,
A short blurb about myself. I grew up in Miri, a small town in tropical Malaysian Borneo. Since I was 17, life has taken me to different places, from Brisbane, Australia, to Singapore, where I’ve called home for the past 12 years.
I’ve always been drawn to colour, light, and the simple beauty of the world around me. Visual stories have always spoken louder to me than words ever could. My journey into photography began at 21, when my dad gifted me my first DSLR, a Canon EOS 60D. I had longed for one for years, and finally holding it in my hands felt like the start of something magical. From that moment, capturing memories and the wonder of the world became more than a hobby, it became a passion.
2023 brought an exciting chapter in my journey with my first full-frame camera, the Canon EOS R5 C. Shooting landscapes with it has opened my eyes to new possibilities, and I can’t wait to explore more of the world, one frame at a time.
Most of what I know about photography I’ve taught myself, fueled by endless hours of YouTube tutorials and inspiration from incredible photographers. My style is colourful yet real. I aim to highlight the beauty of life without straying too far from reality. Even now, I’m still learning, experimenting, and discovering new ways to tell stories through my lens.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a moment to explore my world. I hope my photos bring you a little joy and inspiration. Feel free to reach out, whether it’s to chat, collaborate, or share ideas, I’d be happy to connect.
Sincerely,
Sean Chin
FAQ
-
I mainly shoot on the Canon EOS R5 C. It is both a photo and cinematic powerhouse. If a second camera is required, I have a trusty and compact Canon M6 Mark II. I am a Canon fanboy.
-
I edit predominantly on Lightroom. I would describe my style as vivid, leaning towards a painterly vibrance and saturation, but still convey realism.
For videos, I edit mostly on Premiere Pro.

Top sources of inspiration on my list are Thomas Heaton, Nigel Danson, Luke Stackpoole, Adam Karnacz, and Simon D’entremont. There’s so much to learn from professionals like them and they really inspired me to hone my photography and editing skills further.

My current favourite is definitely landscape photography. Taking my first photos of snowcapped mountains in New Zealand, Te Waipounamu, was a pivotal moment in my photography journey. Living in Singapore, it is a bit limited (not to mention sweltering), so I only really get to do it while I’m overseas.
Other than that, I’m trying to get into portraits. If you have any pro tips to share, or are interested to do portrait shoots together, hit me up!
